Once in a while I run into an excellent slice of salmon at my local fish market, Pearson's Port - that I just can't pass up -
Pearson's Port is an on the water fish market right below the Bridge on Coast Hwy in Newport Beach. When I fished on the local commercial boats we sold our fish there. In fact our boats picture is on the wall.
Enjoy this super simple grilled salmon recipe.
1 1/2 lbs salmon
Lemon pepper
Garlic powder
salt
all ingredients above are to taste , I like a thin coat on the filets
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup olive oil
Directions:
1. sprinkle the filets with the lemon pepper, garlic and salt ( don't go overboard)
2. In smallish bowl - mix soy, brown sugar, water and olive oil - until the sugar disolves
3. put filets in ziploc - pour in the sauce mix , coat well - seel bag and stick in fridge for a couple hours, flipping bag every 30 min or so -
4. cook over medium grill, lightly oil grill too , before you stick on the fish -
5. 5 - 7 min per side depending on your tatses -
